Baseball Recap: Contreras Comes Up Short

Contreras was the 4-2 winner over Hollywood when they last played one another on March 7th, but their luck changed this time around. Contreras took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hollywood on Wednesday. The Cobras have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Manuel Alvarado and Jonathan Moreno did some serious damage despite the final result: Alvarado went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and three RBI, while Moreno got on base in all three of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and one double. Those three RBI gave Alvarado a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Miguel Cuervo, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Contreras' loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Hollywood, their victory bumped their record up to 2-7.

While Contreras had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 2:15 p.m. on Friday.
