Baseball Recap: Boyne City Takes a Loss

Boyne City extended their losing streak to ten on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 2-12-1 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Plymouth Christian Academy Eagles. If the Ramblers were looking for revenge after losing 17-2 to the Eagles when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Plymouth Christian Academy, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 17-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games.

For Plymouth Christian Academy's part, the team relied heavily on Micah Lavigne, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave Lavigne a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brandon Shollack, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Boyne City will face off against Norway at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Plymouth Christian Academy, they will challenge Pinconning at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday.
