Volleyball Recap: Valparaiso Has No Trouble Against Westville

Valparaiso won the last time they faced Westville and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Vikings put the hurt on the Blackhawks with a sharp 3-0 victory.

Valparaiso never let Westville on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-23, 25-15.

Owen Morris paced Valparaiso's offense, picking up 19 kills. Morris got some help from Colton Allen and his 12 assists. Morris was also solid from the service line: he led the team with five aces.

When it comes to explaining why Westville lost, don't look at Mark Wert. Despite the final result, he had 12 digs.

Valparaiso now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Westville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Valparaiso will face off against Chesterton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Westville, they will square off against Warsaw at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
