Basketball Game Preview: Eastside Catholic Crusaders vs. Roosevelt Roughriders

The Eastside Catholic Crusaders will take on the Roosevelt Roughriders at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Thursday, Eastside Catholic was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 41-37 to Lakeside. While losing is never fun, the Crusaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while the Lions are ranked sixth).

Meanwhile, Roosevelt was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 52-48 to Seattle Prep.

Eastside Catholic will need to focus on slowing down Emma Curtis, one of several Roosevelt players who made an impact when they last played. She went 5-for-10 on her way to 13 points and five rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Curtis now owns an excellent 45.2% field goal percentage. Audrey Richardson was another key player, going 5-for-10 en route to 12 points.

Eastside Catholic's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-11. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points over those games. As for Roosevelt, their loss dropped their record down to 17-8.
