Volleyball Recap: Wells Warriors vs. Bonny Eagle Scots

Wells lost against Bonny Eagle back in September of 2016, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Wells Warriors took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bonny Eagle Scots. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Scots recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Wells started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-22, 25-23, 25-23.

Wells' loss came despite strong showings from Sky Curley and Autumn Leslie. Curley had 16 digs and three aces, while Leslie had 13 digs, a kill, and 21 assists. That's the most aces Curley has posted since back in September of 2023.

Even though they lost, Wells was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in five consecutive games.

Wells' defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Bonny Eagle, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wells will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Marshwood at 5:30 p.m. As for Bonny Eagle, they will face off against Biddeford at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Biddeford will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Bonny Eagle surely won't give up without a fight.
