Baseball Recap: Alexandria-Monroe Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Alexandria-Monroe ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over Yorktown. The victory was familiar territory for Alexandria-Monroe, who have now won four games in a row.

Mason Fuller was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those five hits gave him a new career-high.

Fuller wasn't the only one making solid contact: Alexandria-Monroe kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in four consecutive contests.

Alexandria-Monroe's win bumped their record up to 15-4. As for Yorktown, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-9.

Alexandria-Monroe didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 9-0 victory against Frankton on the 6th. As for Yorktown, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 10-0 loss against Shelbyville on the 6th.
