Volleyball Recap: Central Catholic Comes Up Short

Central Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Ottawa Hills Green Bears. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Fighting Irish of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Central Catholic wouldn't go down easily and took Ottawa Hills into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking five-point loss. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-20, 16-25, 23-25, 15-10.

Skylar Berenzweig had a dynamite game For Ottawa Hills., getting 21 digs and four aces. That's the most aces Berenzweig has posted since back in August.

Central Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Ottawa Hills, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-10 record this season.

Central Catholic has already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Springfield on the 8th. As for Ottawa Hills, they will face off against Delta at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
