Soccer Game Preview: Liberty vs. Skyline

Liberty is on a four-game streak of home losses, and Skyline a five-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Liberty Eagles will look to defend their home pitch against the Skyline Hawks at 7:30 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Liberty's offense. They fell 2-0 to Sherando on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Liberty can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 265th, while Sherando are ranked 42nd).

Meanwhile, Skyline also failed to score in their most recent game. They lost 8-0 to Brentsville District on Friday.

Liberty's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Skyline, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9-1.

Everything went Liberty's way against Skyline in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Liberty made off with an 8-1 win. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
