Preview: Union County Patriots vs. Daleville Broncos
The Union County Patriots will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against the Daleville Broncos at 12:00 p.m. on January 20th. Union County has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Union County scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 50-36 win over Union City.
Katie McCashland was her usual excellent self, scoring 28 points along with eight steals and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ally Gray, who scored seven points.
Daleville suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Eastern Hancock, falling 62-17. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Daleville has scored all season.
Union County's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-12. As for Daleville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-12.
Everything came up roses for Union County against Daleville when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 54-17 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Union County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
