Basketball Recap: Herscher Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses at Home

There's no place like home for Herscher, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They snuck past the Iroquois West Raiders with a 38-33 victory on Saturday. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 41-36 win the Raiders walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Austin Buckley was the offensive standout of the matchup as he posted 15 points. Jacob Mccree was another key player, putting up nine points and eight rebounds.

Herscher's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-11. As for Iroquois West, they moved to 7-9 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Herscher Tigers take on the Paxton-Buckley-Loda Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Iroquois West, they will venture away from home to take on Westville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Westville's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests.
