Soccer Recap: Crete Takes a Loss

After flying high against Aurora last Thursday, Crete came back down to earth. The Cardinals lost 5-2 to the Lexington Minutemen on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Crete can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska soccer rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while Lexington are ranked fifth).

Crete suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 4-3. As for Lexington, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.

Crete has already played their next game, a 6-0 win against Beatrice on the 14th. As for Lexington, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Scottsbluff on the 15th.
