Preview: Ropes Eagles vs. New Home Leopards
Ropes is on a three-game streak of home wins, while New Home is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Ropes Eagles will take on the New Home Leopards at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Ropes didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Plains, but they still walked away with a 25-19 victory.
Meanwhile, New Home stacked a eighth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They claimed a resounding 54-6 victory over Morton at home. Given New Home's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 492nd, while Morton is ranked 1110th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Logan Addison, who rushed for 181 yards and four touchdowns on only 12 carries. Addison was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 57 yards. Caleb Cook was another key contributor, rushing for 36 yards and a touchdown.
Ropes has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for New Home, their win bumped their record up to 9-0.
Ropes was taken down by New Home 54-0 in their previous meeting back in November of 2022. Will Ropes have more luck at home instead of on the road?
