Basketball Game Preview: Junction Eagles vs. Mason Punchers

Junction is 0-10 against Mason since January of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Junction Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Mason Punchers at 6:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Junction saw some tournament action on Thursday. They had to suffer through a 45-17 loss at the hands of Menard. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Mason was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 53-48 to Jarrell. While losing is never fun, the Punchers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 715th, while the Cougars are ranked 304th).

Mason has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. As for Junction, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

Junction took a serious blow against Mason in their previous meeting back in January of 2022, falling 62-19. Can Junction avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
