Baseball Recap: Paul VI Snags Eighth Win in Last Nine Games

There's no place like home for Paul VI, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Life Christian Academy Eagles a 5-0 shutout on Thursday.

Life Christian Academy's batters probably weren't too happy with Aiden Gallagher, who pitched a no hitter and racked up ten Ks (he gave up zero walks). Gallagher has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Owen Peltier was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Sirois, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Paul VI has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Life Christian Academy, they dropped their record down to 7-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Paul VI will be playing at home against Archbishop Carroll at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers are facing the Lions at the right time seeing as the Lions are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. Life Christian Academy has already played their next game (against St. Paul), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
