Volleyball Recap: Hilbert Takes a Loss

Hilbert and Montello squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Hilbert had to settle for second. They lost 3-0 to the Hilltoppers.

While Hilbert was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Montello's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-12, 25-16.

Maddie Schnurer paced Hilbert's offense, picking up three kills. Schnurer got some help from Grace Kloehn and her five assists. Mia Dennis controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Hilbert's defeat dropped their record down to 7-28. As for Montello, they pushed their record up to 32-6 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Hilbert does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Montello, they will take on Roncalli at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
