Baseball Recap: Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley Falcons vs. Salt Fork Storm
Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley and Salt Fork squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Storm by a score of 8-7. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Storm apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2022.
Conner Kinzinger made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of David Hull, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base.
Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley's defeat dropped their record down to 16-12. As for Salt Fork, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 23-7.
