Baseball Recap: Walnut Ridge Takes a Loss

Walnut Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Briggs Bruins. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Scots of the 20-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Walnut Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Briggs, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Walnut Ridge is set to face off against their familiar foe Independence at 5:30 p.m. on the 11th. Meanwhile, Briggs will take on rival South at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
