Basketball Recap: Bloomfield Takes a Loss

Bloomfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. The game between them and the Elgin/Pope John Wolfpack didn't end well, with the Bloomfield Bees falling 46-32. While losing is never fun, the Bees can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 250th, while the Wolfpack are ranked 94th).

When it comes to explaining why Bloomfield lost, don't look at Beau Eisenhauer. Despite the final result, he posted 14 points. Another player making a difference was Jake Schroeder, who earned five points.

Bloomfield's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Elgin/Pope John, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bloomfield will head out to face off against St. Mary's at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in St. Mary's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matches. As for Elgin/Pope John, they will venture away from home to challenge Fullerton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fullerton will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Elgin/Pope John surely won't give up without a fight.
