Volleyball Recap: Willow Springs Bears vs. Liberty Eagles
After flying high against Forsyth on Tuesday, Willow Springs came back down to earth. The Bears came up short against the Liberty Eagles on Thursday, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.
Paisley Crudgington paced Willow Springs' offense, picking up 11 kills. Crudgington got some help from Sydney Stuart and her 11 assists.
Liberty had a senior duo take command as Kinsey Shoup had 16 digs and five aces and Jade Acklin had 12 digs and three assists. Shoup is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last seven games she's played.
Willow Springs' loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 20-8-3. As for Liberty, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 21-8-4.
Willow Springs does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Liberty, they have already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Hollister on the 25th.
