Softball Recap: Hanford West Comes Up Short

Hanford West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Highland Scots.

Sophia Luna and Adyson Owens stepped up to the plate in a big way. Luna scored two runs while going 1-for-2, while Owens scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Hanford West's loss dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Highland, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-5-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hanford West will head out to square off against Sierra Pacific at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Huskies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Bears have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season. As for Highland, they will face off against Independence at 4:00 p.m. on the 23rd. The last four games the Falcons have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
