Basketball Recap: Washington Township Takes a Loss

Washington Township lost against Shore Regional back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The match between the Washington Township Minutemen and the Shore Regional Blue Devils didn't end well, with the Washington Township Minutemen falling 60-42.

Leading Shore Regional to victory were Kimi Sayson and Ava Coyle. Sayson went 6 for 10 to rack up 17 points in addition to five boards and four steals, while Coyle went 6 of 10 from beyond the arc on her way to 18 points and six rebounds. What's more, Sayson also posted a 60% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jasmin Okuska, who posted eight points.

Washington Township's defeat dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Shore Regional, their record now sits at 12-9.

Looking ahead, Washington Township will take on Williamstown at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Shore Regional will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Manchester Township at 6:00 p.m. on February 18th. Shore Regional is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.9 points per game this season.
