It may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but Sumter ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They beat the Ridge View Blazers by a goal, winning 2-1. Sumter haven't had any issues with Ridge View recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Cole Denton was the driving force of Sumter's attack as he scored both of Sumter's goals, bringing his season total up to two goals.

Sumter's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 3-5. As for Ridge View, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Sumter will face off against rival Westwood at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Ridge View is set to take on their familiar foe Blythewood at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
