Baseball Recap: C.B. Aycock Victorious

C.B. Aycock won the last time they faced East Wake and things went their way on Monday too. The Golden Falcons skirted past the Warriors 4-3.

Jones Winters made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Dalton Smith was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. He also scored a run, marking his first of the season. Janeson Steele was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

C.B. Aycock pushed their record up to 7-9 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.67 runs across that stretch. As for East Wake, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

C.B. Aycock wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 4-3 victory against Fike on the 15th. As for East Wake, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Rolesville at 4:30 p.m.
