Baseball Recap: Stansbury Has No Trouble Against Tooele

Stansbury barely beat Tooele the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Stallions put the hurt on the Buffaloes with a sharp 8-2 victory on Tuesday. The Stallions haven't had any issues with the Buffaloes recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Nolan Furgal tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Andrew Harris, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Stansbury's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 8-9 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Xaviah Patch, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Stansbury's record is now 11-9. As for Tooele, they moved to 6-13 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Stansbury will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Buffaloes: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
