Recap: Mechanicsburg Indians vs. Fairbanks Panthers

The Mechanicsburg Indians waltzed into their game on Saturday with 13 straight wins but they left with 14. They claimed a resounding 55-26 victory over Fairbanks at home. Mechanicsburg has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 22 points or more this season.

When it comes to explaining why Fairbanks lost, one person who can't be blamed is Riley DaRe. Despite the final result, she scored six points. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Poling, who scored three points.

Mechanicsburg pushed their record up to 15-1 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.1 points per game. As for Fairbanks, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.

Mechanicsburg will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Northeastern at 7:30 p.m. As for Fairbanks, they will head out on the road to challenge Triad at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Triad focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Saturday.
