Basketball Recap: Avon Grove Charter Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Avon Grove Charter can finally bid farewell to their eight-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Tuesday. They strolled past the Providence Christian Academy Griffins with points to spare, taking the game 63-48. The Wolves' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Despite the loss, Providence Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Bryce Unruh, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 20 points in addition to seven steals and five boards. Unruh has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 32 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cohen Miller, who posted nine points.

Avon Grove Charter's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Providence Christian Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Avon Grove Charter will venture away from home to challenge Sussex Academy at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Providence Christian Academy, they will face off against Greater Grace Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Greater Grace Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53 points per game this season.
