Soccer Game Preview: Chapel Hill vs. Canton

The Chapel Hill Red Devils will square off against the Canton Eagles at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Chapel Hill has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since January 20.

Monday just wasn't the day for Chapel Hill's offense. They came up short against Pittsburg on Monday, falling 11-0. While losing is never fun, Chapel Hill can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 792nd, while Pittsburg are ranked 139th).

Meanwhile, Canton scored the most goals they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. While the 4-4 score might suggest a draw, it was Grand Saline who was credited with the victory. The Indians got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to Canton's one. Even if Canton couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.

Chapel Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14-1. As for Canton, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.
