Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Wilkes-Barre walked away with it. They put the hurt on the Hazleton Area Cougars with a sharp 17-7 win on Saturday. The Wolfpack's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Wilkes-Barre and bumps their season record up to 6-12. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Hazleton Area, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 14 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.
