Basketball Recap: Windermere Prep Victorious

The third road contest was the charm for Windermere Prep, as they earned their first away victory of the season. They rang in the new year with a 64-57 win over the Collins Hill Eagles on Friday.

Collins Hill's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Destini Chunn, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds, and Kaleigh Heywood, who posted 21 points and three blocks. The matchup was Heywood's seventh in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Disaya Reid, who earned seven points and eight boards.

Windermere Prep's victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Collins Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.

Coming up, Windermere Prep and Morrow will face off at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. The Mustangs will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Lakers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Collins Hill, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Greenbrier at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
