It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Ferndale had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Point Arena Pirates as they made off with an 18-8 win. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by seven runs or more this season.
The team relied heavily on Tinnley Pidgeon, who went 4-for-5 with four runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Caleigh Griffith also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Ferndale always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Ferndale's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-12. As for Point Arena, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-11.
