Softball Recap: Vanguard Comes Up Short

The Vanguard Knights wound up with the same score they had in their last game (6-5), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.

Alivia Vance was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Cadence Abbott also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Vanguard's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Mount Dora, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-6.

Looking ahead, Vanguard will be taking part in a tournament against Arnold at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mount Dora, they will host Foundation Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
