Basketball Recap: Swansboro Pirates vs. Pamlico County Hurricanes
After a string of five wins, Swansboro's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 50-40 to the Pamlico County Hurricanes. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 214th, while the Hurricanes are ranked 60th).

Despite the loss, Swansboro saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Addison King dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. King also set a new season-high mark in steals with seven.
Even though they lost, Swansboro smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in ten consecutive contests.
