West Mesa hasn't had much luck against Eldorado recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Mustangs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Golden Eagles at 10:00 a.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
West Mesa is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Highland with a sharp 28-3 win on Tuesday. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Johnathan Sisneros made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). He also tossed no walks, which is notable because West Mesa is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 4-9 otherwise. Sisneros was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his six plate appearances with three RBI and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Emilio Romero was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with five runs and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Matthew Rodriguez, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs and two RBI.
West Mesa kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Eldorado made easy work of Atrisco Heritage Academy on Thursday and carried off a 19-9 win.
Eldorado got a massive performance out of John Wofford, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That home run was Wofford's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Timothy Kamphuis, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.
West Mesa's victory bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Eldorado, their win bumped their record up to 10-2.
Saturday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. West Mesa has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .444. However, it's not like Eldorado struggles in that department as they've averaged .533. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
