Football Recap: Cranston West Takes a Tough Playoff Loss + How To Watch

Cranston West and La Salle Academy squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Cranston West had to settle for second. They received a blow as they fell 28-14 to the Rams. The game snapped a strange streak: the last six times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

When it comes to explaining why Cranston West lost, don't look at Jon Leroux. Despite the final result, he threw for 323 yards and one touchdown, and also punched in one TD on the ground. 98 of Leroux's passing yards were hauled in by Daniel Mojica.

Sam Perry was nothing short of spectacular for La Salle Academy: he threw for 317 yards and three TDs while picking up 13.2 yards per attempt. Those 317 passing yards gave Perry a new career-high.

Cranston West's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for La Salle Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cranston West will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Cranston East at 10:00 a.m. on the 27th. The Falcons are facing the Thunderbolts at the right time seeing as the Thunderbolts are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for La Salle Academy, they will take on Bishop Hendricken at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
