Baseball Recap: Irrigon's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

It was a good run, but Irrigon unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the McLoughlin Pioneers by a score of 9-8. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pioneers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Colton Thompson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Xander Olman was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Irrigon's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for McLoughlin, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Irrigon will head out to face off against Sherman at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McLoughlin, they will take on Burns at 1:00 p.m. on May 9.
