Basketball Game Preview: Teachers Prep vs. Classics

After both having extra time off, Teachers Prep and Classics will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Teachers Prep is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Brooklyn Academy of Global Finance, posting a 77-48 victory. Given Teachers Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 206th, while Brooklyn Academy of Global Finance is ranked 459th), the result last Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Classics strolled past Maxwell Vo-Tech with points to spare last Thursday, taking the game 66-49.

The win (which was Teachers Prep's fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Classics, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Teachers Prep was dealt a bruising 45-0 loss at the hands of Classics in their previous matchup back in January. Can Teachers Prep avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
