Recap: Sonoma Valley Dragons vs. American Canyon Wolves
The Sonoma Valley Dragons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 78-43 loss at the hands of American Canyon. Sonoma Valley has struggled against American Canyon recently, as their matchup on Wednesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Sonoma Valley's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Matt Jordan, who scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hudson Giarritta, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Sonoma Valley has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. As for American Canyon, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-5.
Sonoma Valley will be playing in front of their home fans against Justin-Siena at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Justin-Siena is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for American Canyon, they will challenge Vallejo at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Vallejo will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 606th, while American Canyon is ranked 206th).
