Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Genie Mcghee and Emma Eastman Lead Decatur Heritage Christian Academy to Victory

Decatur Heritage Christian Academy's game on Monday was all tied up 18-18 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against the Jasper Vikings by a score of 40-29. The 40-point effort marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Decatur Heritage Christian Academy was led to victory by Emma Eastman and Genie Mcghee. Eastman posted 13 points, while Mcghee earned seven points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Mcghee has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 27 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Leslie Hames, who had eight points and three steals.

Several Vikings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Marianna Rigsby, who put up 12 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Sk Bonner, who posted seven points and six boards.

Decatur Heritage Christian Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 40.3 points. As for Jasper, their record is now 4-4.

Decatur Heritage Christian Academy will square off against Tanner at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Jasper, they and Dora will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. Dora is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.7 points per game this season.
