Baseball Game Preview: Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory Braves vs. Roncalli Royals

Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Tuesday. They are taking a road trip to take on the Roncalli Royals at 6:00 p.m.

Last Saturday, Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory didn't have quite enough to beat Indianapolis Lutheran and fell 7-6. The Braves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Anthony Suscha made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs, three runs, and one double while going 3-for-3.

Meanwhile, Roncalli entered their tilt with Gibson Southern on Monday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They beat the Titans by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 4-2.

Jaiden Kuria spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Rudy Schoettle and Collin Ash did most of the damage at the plate: Schoettle scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2, while Ash scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits Schoettle has posted since back in May of 2024.

Roncalli's record is now 7-1. As for Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Roncalli struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.

Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory couldn't quite get it done against Roncalli when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 6-2. Can the Braves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
