Football Recap: Jaylen Tate's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Jackson over M.L. King + How To Watch

Jackson fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against M.L. King on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 29-27. The Jaguars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Jackson's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaylen Tate, who rushed for 81 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Jamarcus Harper had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 72 yards and one TD on only nine carries, while also picking up 75 receiving yards for M.L. King.

Having lost for the first time this season, Jackson fell to 3-1. As for M.L. King, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Jackson didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 33-6 win against Drew on the 19th. As for M.L. King, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 21-14 victory against Pace Academy on the 19th.
