            Baseball Recap: Florence Huskies vs. Cripple Creek-Victor Pioneers        
        
		
        
        
            Florence's game  on Thursday was a  loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them  on Saturday. They came out on top against the Cripple Creek-Victor Pioneers by a score of  10-5. The  victory was a breath of fresh air for the Huskies as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

 Finn Phillips made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing one inning while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. He also  tossed  no  earned runs, which is notable because Florence is 2-1 when he allows at  most  three  earned runs, but 5-7 otherwise. Phillips was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with three  RBI, one  triple,  and one  stolen base. Those  three  RBI gave  him a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Shane Harvey, who  went 1-for-3 with two  runs and one  stolen base.  Ryan Robinson also deserves some recognition as  he  scored his first  runs of the season.
 Florence  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .514. They are 7-3 when  they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Florence's record is now 7-8. As for Cripple Creek-Victor, their loss was  their sixth straight on the road, which  dropped their record down to 2-8.
 Coming up, Florence will venture away from home to  challenge Woodland Park  at 2:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their  ninth straight  win, something the Huskies surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cripple Creek-Victor, they will be playing at home against Kiowa  at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday.
