Baseball Recap: Old Town Snags Third Win in Last Four Games

Old Town owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Monday. They came out on top against the Presque Isle Wildcats by a score of 4-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-0 on Monday.

Not much got past Alex McCannell, who gave up just four hits to keep Presque Isle off the board. McCannell also tossed no walks, which is notable because Old Town is undefeated when he allows at most two walks, but 4-5 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Nate Baker was excellent, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

Old Town has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Presque Isle, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Old Town will challenge rival Mount Desert Island at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Presque Isle is set to take on their familiar foe Caribou at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
