Basketball Recap: Assumption Comes Up Short

After flying high against Rosholt last Tuesday, Assumption came back down to earth. The Assumption Royals fell just short of the Rib Lake Redmen by a score of 42-39 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Royals have suffered since February 27, 2024.

Assumption has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Rib Lake, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Assumption will head out to square off against Stratford at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Stratford will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Assumption surely won't give up without a fight. As for Rib Lake, they will take on Phillips at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Phillips knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Rib Lake likes a good challenge.
