Softball Game Preview: Kennedy Eagles vs. Swett Warriors

Kennedy is 1-9 against Swett since March of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 4:00 p.m. Kennedy has given up an average of 17.8 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Kennedy managed to slip by Bethel the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Eagles came up short against the Jaguars on Monday, falling 18-6. The Eagles' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Meanwhile, Swett entered their tilt with St. Patrick-St. Vincent two weeks ago with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Bruins with a sharp 21-10 victory. Considering the Warriors have won seven matches by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Swett got a massive performance out of Selene Schlepp, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Schlepp is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Camryn Christian, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Swett's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.7 runs over those games. As for Kennedy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5-1.
