Baseball Recap: Hayward Takes a Loss

Hayward fell victim to Mt. Eden and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 16-0 to the Monarchs. The Farmers just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Hayward saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jakye Smith, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Hayward's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Mt. Eden, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Monarchs beat Hayward by a score of 7-1 on Wednesday.
