East Pennsboro barely beat Selinsgrove the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. East Pennsboro's pitchers stepped up to hand Selinsgrove a 14-0 shutout on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Chase Deibler made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Deibler was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Jovi DeJesus and Eric Foster Jr. did most of the damage at the plate: DeJesus scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Foster Jr. scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs DeJesus has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Lucas Martz, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

East Pennsboro has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, East Pennsboro is headed away from home for the first time to challenge Trinity at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup will give East Pennsboro their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Selinsgrove, they will take on Wyoming Valley West at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
