Basketball Recap: Northwest Yeshiva Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Northwest Yeshiva had won three straight games and Evan Kaufthal did his part to make it four on Monday. The Northwest Yeshiva Lions came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 69-63 W against the Quilcene Rangers thanks in part to Kaufthal, who almost dropped a triple-double with 24 points, ten rebounds, and nine steals. He has become a key player for Northwest Yeshiva: the team is 10-3 when he posts at least three steals, but 3-4 otherwise.

Leon Varon was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to five boards and four steals. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Northwest Yeshiva pushed their record up to 13-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.0 points over those games. As for Quilcene, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-7.

Coming up, Northwest Yeshiva will face off against Concordia Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Concordia Christian Academy's defense has only allowed 15.5 points per game this season, so Northwest Yeshiva's offense will have their work cut out for them. Quilcene does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
