Softball Recap: Casa Roble Extends Winning Streak to Six

Casa Roble had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. They blew past the Sutter Huskies 10-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-1 on April 7th.

Cassandra Alvarez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on 12 hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Zaria Gee, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Elizabeth Seidel also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Casa Roble hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive matches.

Casa Roble pushed their record up to 14-5-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Sutter, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.

Casa Roble wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 4-2 loss against Destiny Christian Academy on the 5th. As for Sutter, they have also already played their next match, an 8-5 victory against River Valley on the 2nd.
