Basketball Game Preview: Thomas Stone Cougars vs. St. Charles

Two dominant guards in Brayden Brown and Jamari Rogers are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Thomas Stone Cougars will face off against St. Charles at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.

Last Friday, Thomas Stone lost to Great Mills at home by a 63-47 margin. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 238th, while the Hornets are ranked 102nd).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Charles). They claimed a resounding 73-35 victory over Patuxent. St. Charles hasn't had any issues with Patuxent recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

St. Charles' victory bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Thomas Stone, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.

Thomas Stone came up short against St. Charles in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 63-58. Can Thomas Stone avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
