Coal City was the 2-0 winner over Pontiac when they last played one another back in September of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Coalers fell 2-0 to the Indians on Saturday. The Coalers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Ava Kenney paced Coal City's offense, picking up six kills. Kenney got some help from Sydney Larson and her 15 assists. Finally, Darcie Ladas kept Coal City's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Coal City's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9-1. As for Pontiac, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-3.

Coal City wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Manteno on the 20th. As for Pontiac, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Momence on the 20th.
